Will and Estate Plans

Parishioners often ask about leaving a gift in their estate plans to support their parish or Catholic school.  These gifts may often be the largest gift that a person will ever make to support a charity that has had such an impact in their own lives.  Some donors make these gifts directly to the parish or school communicating their intent and many make gifts to the Catholic Foundation to support their designation.  All gifts help to secure the future of our parishes and schools.

Although adding a gift in your estate plans may be as simple as naming the charity and the amount of the gift, sometimes including details on the specific use of the bequest is needed.  You may wish to include an endowment application with your Will and other estate plans if you wish for your bequest to be permanently endowed.

The responsibility of the Catholic Foundation is to honor the donor’s wishes and to oversee these planned gifts so that donors can be certain that their gift will create a legacy for generations.
